STUDY ABROAD PARTNERSHIPS

The 17吃瓜官网 has growing partnerships with institutions and universities across the globe that offer opportunities for our students to undertake study abroad options.

Only apply if you meet the following requirements:

  • Students must have a B average grade or higher and have 2 strong recommendations from tutors as to why they believe the student would be successful on the exchange programme
  • Students must be New Zealand permanent residents or citizens.
  • Students must be over 18 years of age
  • Students must meet any additional application criteria for the partner institution they choose. (Please refer to the information about each institution in the student services centre or contact the 17吃瓜官网international department for further information)

  1. Application process
    1. Students to fill out 17吃瓜官网study abroad application from the 17吃瓜官网website or international reception (signed by students programme manager) attach with this a copy of their academic transcripts and a letter of recommendation from 2 tutors.
    2. Students should choose 3 exchange partner options in the instance that their first preference is unavailable.
    3. Students need to have physical copies of the application dropped to the international department reception or scanned applications to studyabroad@sit.ac.nz by 31 March for midyear (semester 2) exchange or 31 August for start of year (semester 1) exchange.
    4. A decision will be made by the international department on the student’s application two weeks after the application closing date.
    5. Accepted students will then fill out the necessary documentation to apply to the partner university. The student will then be sent acceptance documentation onto the exchange programme either from the international department or the partner institution directly (depending on the exchange institution policy) of fees and anything further the partner institution requires. It is the duty of the student to pay fees and supply any further information to the institution within the required timeframe.
    6. The student is responsible for arranging and paying for their own flights, transport, visa and accommodation for the exchange. The student should liaise with the study abroad representative at the partner institution to help with these.
  2. Application criteria

    2. Students must be New Zealand permanent residents or citizens.
    3. Students must be over 18 years of age

  3. Scholarship Criteria
    1. For partner institutions that provide academic scholarships 17吃瓜官网outgoing students must have a B+ average or higher (with no paper lower than a B) to apply .
    2. Students must fill out the 17吃瓜官网study abroad scholarship form and attach to the rest of their study abroad application.
    3. Students must include a letter of why they would be a good brand ambassador for 17吃瓜官网and also commit to duties that will be required of them as a brand ambassador such as writing a journal for the website or providing photo’s etc as requested by 17吃瓜官网marketing or the International department.
